      威猛乐队由两位高中时代的好友组成，他们是乔治·迈克尔（George Michael）和安德鲁·维治利（Andrew Ridgeley）。 在读高中时，他们便热衷于音乐。高中毕业后，他们失业在家，但这也使得他们能更加致力于歌曲的创作。1982年，他们写了一首描述英国青年人中失业状况的歌曲《Wham Rap 威猛轻敲》，并以此获得了唱片公司的合约和公众的注意。不久，威猛的名字就开始出现在英美两地的流行歌曲排行榜上。他们的首张专辑《异想天开》一经推出，很快就在英国的排行榜上名列第一，并连续两周位居榜首。
      1984年“威猛”乐队推出了它的第二张唱片《Make it Big 使其出名》。唱片推出后大获欢迎，其中的《Careless Whisper 无心呢喃》等多首歌曲还在美国获得白金唱片销量。该专辑连续18个星期进入排行榜前10名，并有了三个星期是位居榜首。“威猛”乐队以其高娱乐性的流行音乐风格征服了无数听众。乔治·迈克尔担任了大部分的创作、演唱和演出安排的工作，而安德鲁除了演奏之外，更以其俊美的外形成了乐队的象征。一夜之间，全世界诞生了无数个“威猛”的歌迷，“威猛”成了青少年们的偶像。
      1986年6月，“威猛” 乐队在英国的温布里体育场举行了盛大的告别演唱会，并发行了其最后一场专辑《来自天堂边缘的音乐》。红极一时的“威猛”乐队从此解散。但主唱乔治·迈克尔单飞之后，仍然取得了巨大的成就。他是世界上最为著名的歌手之一。
Careless Whisper 无心呢喃》讲的是情圣乔治同时爱上了三个女孩，别人在谈论这件事情，他的正式女友知道了这个秘密，结果大家心照不宣，跳了最后一曲舞，可是他是爱她的。他不敢说话，却在心里唱着歌，交织着悔恨、伤感和表白，但一切已是无可挽回了，沉默中感情正在趋向破裂。听过这首歌，你会发现在人的内心，背叛和忠诚竟然是一对共生的本性。

非常经典的歌，这个版本应该是完整版吧，以前听过的都是没有开头。

威猛乐队的歌还是很有劲的，好像还是第一支到中国大陆演出的摇滚乐队
